JMS Contractors was established by Shawn Elfberg in 1992 Hospitality Remodels was established by Thomas Brletic in 2018 Our companies merged in 2020.
Shawn began his career in the construction industry during high school, while attending building trade classes and working summers with a General Contractor in Newcastle Wyoming.
Upon graduating high school in 1980, Shawn started his own General Contracting business. In Newcastle, WY., Shawn built several homes, office buildings and numerous remodel projects including work for the City of Newcastle and the State of Wyoming.
In 1984 Shawn began employment with Coleman Construction Company in Bakersfield California as an assistant superintendent and was quickly promoted to Superintendent. While employed with “Coleman”, Shawn supervised construction of over 400 apartment units, 1000 tract homes including 20+ model home units, commercial strip centers and a 6-story office building. Shawn was employed with Colman from 1985 to 1992 in Bakersfield, Las Vegas, NV. And Temecula, CA.
In 1992, Shawn acquired the “B” General Contractor license in both Nevada and California where he established JMS Contractors. While operating JMS, in Las Vegas Nevada, Shawn built numerous remodels and tenant improvements, a 32-unit apartment complex, 15 custom homes ranging from 1400 sq. ft. to 12,000 sq. ft., built a 16-unit tract home development and a 4-unit custom home cul-de-sac including offsite utility and road work, a drycleaning building, bar/tavern builds & remodels, mini storage complexes and prefabricated metal buildings. This work includes a 13,000 sq. ft. tenant improvement for the Howard Huges Corporation, several casino sport book remodels for William Hill, and work at the MGM Grand Theme Park and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In 2020, JMS Contractors teamed up with Tom Brletic and “Hospitality Remodels”. During this period, we have acquired additional state General Contractor licenses and performed over 2600 Luxury Hotel Room remodels, 5 High End retail store build outs, a 5000 sq. ft. church remodel including site work, and in Nashville, TN., a Luxury Suite remodel at the Bridgestone Arena, complete entire restoration of the historic Union Station Hotel at 1001 Broadway and complete remodel of the 6 story 1940 era “Frost” building at 161 Rosa L. Parks Blvd.
JMS Contractors and Hospitality Remodels currently hold General Contractor Licenses in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, and Wyoming.
Since the companies have merged, our group of well educated, well-seasoned and experienced project managers, superintendents, carpenters and labor force can perform most any type of construction projects. Our lead principals have over 250 years of combined knowledge and experience.
